Handmade with intention and love. One of the most feared and beloved figures in Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga or Baba Jaga is an ogress who steals, cooks, and eats her victims, usually children. A guardian of the fountains of the water of life, she lives with her sisters (all known as Baba Yaga) in a forest hut that spins continually on chickens birds’ legs. She can be seen as representing the duality of life and death, as may help or hinder those that encounter or seek her out. Her symbols are corn sheafs, wreaths of wheat, corn, rye and wild flowers and forest life. Her shingles are wonky and her garden is overgrown. Her floor boards are made from dried rose stems and her house walks on ethically sourced crows feet. I welcome curious cats wanting to know more about my wares. Please contact me an I would be happy to help. All items that contain animal bones in my shop are scavenged by me on my walks or I have sourced from like minded individuals in similar ways. No animals are harmed in the making or selling of my wares.
